  The second edition of Industry Days is ready to kick off!

After a succesful first launch last year, the upcoming 24th MFFK Febiofest Bratislava will once again host a second edition of Industry Days (March 7 - 8): a bright new event dedicated to the promotion of local film production as well as to meetings of Slovak and international film professionals.

The 2017 edition of Berlinale has been a success for Slovak films. Spoor by Agnieszka Holland and Kasia Adamik have received the Silver Bear – Alfred Bauer Prize and Little Harbour by Iveta Grófová was awarded the Crystal Bear.
  Two Slovak films at Rotterdam IFF 2017

Two Slovak films will be premiered at the 46th edition of prestigious Rotterdam IFF. Bright Future section features Filthy by talented Tereza Nvotová. The festival has also prepared a wide retrospective of the work of Jan Němec including also his last film The Wolf from Royal Vineyard Street.
  Slovak films at Trieste FF 2017

Year 2017 starts fabulous for Slovak films. One the first festivals of 2017 - Trieste FF - is opened by The Teacher by Jan Hřebejk and presents several Slovak films witihin the programme in their Italian premieres. Moreover, Slovak projects are also part of the accompanying industry events.
  Slovak Films Nominated for Czech Lion 2016

Czech National Award Czech Lion, bestowed annually by CzechFilm and Television Academy (CFTA), announced the Nominations from the films distributed in the local cinemas last year.

Czech Lion is awarded in 15 statutory categories (see below). Among the three films with the highest number of nominations are two Slovak co-productions, A Prominent Patient (by Julius Ševčík) and The Teacher (by Jan Hřebejk).

Berlin IFF (Feb 9 – 19, 2017) will introduce Iveta Grófová´s second feature within the Generation Kplus section.
  A Prominent Patient by Julius Ševčík in Berlinale Special

Julius Ševčík's 3rd feature film A Prominent Patient (orig. MASARYK) with Czech actor Karel Roden as the main lead Jan Masaryk will be presented at Berlinale 2017 in its international premiere. The film was selected for the section Berlinale Special.

Renowned Polish director Agnieszka Holland will introduced her new film Spoor (orig. POKOT) at Berlinale 2017. The film was also co-produced by newly established Slovak production company nutprodukcia.
  Celebration of Slovak cinema in Brussels
