  The Golden Era of Slovak Cinematography heading to Berlin
A representative showcase will offer the best of Slovak films from Czechoslovak New Wave. A collection of films curated by Jörg Fries and Olaf Möller will be screened in Zeughauskino – Deutsches historisches Museum in Berlin on Sept 20-30, 2016.
  The Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia 2016
The Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia is held for the fourth time in four Australian cities. The festival starts on Sept 14 in Melbourne and then continues to Perth, Sydney and for the first time also to Canberra.
  Cinematik welcomes Slovak films
The 11th International Film Festival Cinematik (Sept 13 – 18, 2016) will feature several Slovak films in competitive sections of European fiction films and Slovak documentaries and two Slovak co-productions will be premiered in the non-competitive sidebar dedicated to domestic production.

  Slovakia - Partner Country of CineLink Industry Days 2016
On Monday, August 15, the established coproduction platform CineLink Industry Days kicks off within the 22nd Sarajevo Film Festival. This year, Slovakia and Czech Republic are proud to be Partner countries of this unique event! A strong delegation of 26 Czech and Slovak film professionals is heading to Sarajevo for four busy days to build ties with their Southeast European counterparts.
  Summer School Academy Uherské Hradište honours Emília Vášaryová
Summer School Academy Uherské Hradište kicks off on July 22 and will last until July 26. This year´s programme will not only show a large number of Slovak films, but also recognize Emília Vášáryová, an outstanding an icon of Slovak film. The traditional Slovak day will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2016.

  Fest Anca 2016 is here!
On Wednesday, June 29 International Animation Festival Fest Anča opens its gates in Žilina, and will keep them openmed until Sunday, July 3, 2016. Its 9th edition the festival introduces the selection of the best animation films from all around the world, this year with special focus on the animation of the Balkans, and embraces the surreal world of Quay brothers, as well as Montreal director Steve Woloshen.
  Art Film Fest Košice kicks off
After 23 years Art Film Fest Košice faces a new challenge: relocation from spa town Trenčianske Teplice to the east of Slovakia. The festival in Košice kicks off on June 17 and lasts till June 25.
  The Teacher and The Wolf from Royal Vineyard Street competes at Karlovy Vary IFF
The International Film Festival Karlovy Vary (July 1 – 9 2016) unveils its Official Selection Competition line-up featuring two Slovak titles: Slovak-Czech co-production The Teacher by the acclaimed Czech director Jan Hřebejk and The Wolf from Royal Vineyard Street, the last film of the recently deceased Czech legend Jan Němec.
