The 13th edition of IFDF One World in Bratislava took place December 3 - 9, 2012. Two Slovak documentaries Fragile Identity and Graduates/ Freedom In Not For Free were awarded within its Slovak Documentary Films competition section.
  Animateka to screen a significant Slovak programme

Slovak animation is not just about Viktor Kubal. The guests and visitors of the International Festival of Animation Films Animateka in Ljubljana will be able discover various animation filmmakers this edition. After last year's awarded Slovak film The Last Bus by Martin Snopek and Ivana Laučíková and Who's There? by Vanda Raýmanová, the organizers decided to focus on Slovak animation during its 9th edition.

The 25th edition of the European Film Award ceremony took place December 1 in the Valetta, Malta. The European Film Academy Animated Feature Film Award went to the Czech-German-Slovak co-production title Alois Nebel (2011, by Tomáš Luňák).
  Georgian Film Days will present seven Georgian films in Bratislava

Rača, My Love, directed by Jozef Medveď and Timur Palavandišvili, will open the Georgian Film Days on November 23, at the Lumière Cinema. The event will present not only archive Georgian titles but a selection of some of the most successful contemporary films. The Georgian Film Days will be held till November 26, with a Georgian delegation present.
  Slovak films and personalities receiving awards at Bratislava IFF

The 14th Bratislava IFF (9. - 15. 11. 2012) was closed yesterday with a gala ceremony, during which Slovak films from the new MADE IN SLOVAKIA - Feature and Animation Film Competition were awarded. Prizes also went to Slovak personalities actor Štefan Kvietik and actress Gabriela Marcinková.

The 14th edition of the Bratislava International Film Festival (Bratislava IFF) will run November 9 - 15, 2012 and will welcome its visitors in a new festival center - the Sklad č. 7 (Eurovea). That is however, not the only news at this year's edition - in co-operation with the Slovak Film Institute (SFÚ) it will give a new face to the established section MADE IN SLOVAKIA, as well.

The 19th edition of the Listapad IFF, taking place in Minsk, Belarus, will be giving a significant space for Slovak films in its programme this year: during November 2 - 9, 2012, it will welcome Slovak films in competition, non-competitive and retrospective sections.

  First EFA Nominations announced

First European Film Award nominations have been announced: the co-production title Alois Nebel (2011) by Tomáš Luňák being among the nominees. Gypsy by Martin Šulík (2011) still remains in the wider selection of European fiction films.
