  107 Mothers world premieres at the 78th Venice IFF

The Venice International Film Festival (1. – 11. September 2021) will present the world premiere of Peter Kerekes’s fiction film debut. 107 Mothers will compete with 18 other titles in the Orizzonti section, dedicated to films that represent the lastest aesthetic and expressive trends in the international cinema.

From 20 to 28 August, the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (IFF) programme will offer several Slovak co-production films. Four of them are shown in the main competition. For the first time, the competition sections of the festival will also open to documentaries. Twelve works will compete for the Crystal Globe.

The 28th Art Film Fest Košice International Film Festival (June 23 - 27, 2021) will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Slovak feature film, Jánošík (1921), with a special screening. Moreover, the new Slovak films will not be left out either, several of the films will have their premiere.

  Before Tonight is Over world premieres on Blu-ray

UK-based company Second Run has published so far six Slovak films licensed by the Slovak Film Institute (SFI). The latest entry, Peter Solan's Before Tonight is Over (1965), will world premiere on Blu-ray on 14 June 2021.
