  Slovak National Nominations for the EFA Awards 2014
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) nominated two Slovak films for the European Film Awards - feature fiction A Step into the Darkness by Miloslav Luther premiered in June 2014 and documentary feature All My Children by Ladislav Kaboš premiered in February 2014, reaching record number in admissions - over 23.000 in Slovak cinemas.
  Slovak films at Festroia IFF 2014 in Portugal
The annual 30th edition of the Festroia IFF in Setúbal, Portugal (June 6 - 15, 2014) will screen a number of Slovak films this year. Besides two successful features, it will also present three Slovak shorts.

  Slovak national awards The Sun in a Net 2014 were announced
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2014 for the years 2012 and 2013 last Saturday.The Best Fiction Film Award went to My Dog Killer by Mira Fornay, the award for Outstanding Contribution to Slovak Cinema was granted to director Dušan Hanák and scriptwriter Dušan Dušek.

The 16th edition of the Cinema at the Border film showcase, takes place in Český Těšín and Cieszyn at the Czech-Polish border, April 29 - May 4, 2014. This year will honour the Slovak film director Dušan Hanák.

In its 27th edition, Finale Plzeň (April 27 – May 3, 2014, Pilsen, Czech Republic) opens its gates also to Slovak films in all three competition sections , as well as in the new competition of Czech and Slovak TV formats.
