  Slovak Films in Ukraine: from silent to contemporary
The 44th edition of Molodist International Film festival in Kyiv dedicates generous space to a special Focus on Slovak cinema, presenting films from the early silent beginnings to the contemporary reflection of Slovakia nowadays. From Kyiv, the collection of films travels to Lviv, in a special Slovak Molodist extension.
  Two Slovak Documentaries Compete in Jihlava
Ji.hlava International Documentary Films festival (Oct 23 – 27, 2014) traditionally opens the documentary Autumn festival season. In its 18th edition, Slovak films are presented both in the competition program and side-bar sections.
  Slovak films and new projects presented in Warsaw
The 30th edition of Warsaw IFF takes place on October 10 - 19, 2014. Several Slovak films will be presented within the festival official and Industry programme.
  Slovak films and photographs at CinEast 2014
The 7th edition of CinEast takes place on Sept 9 - 26, 2014 in Luxembourg. Slovak cinema is represented by several films this year, among them is the archive Celebration in the Botanical Garden (1969) by Elo Havetta, introduced iin a digitally restored version.

The Slovak nomination for the Best Foreign Language Film of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts (AMPAS), also known as Oscar, is Step into the Dark (orig. Krok do tmy) by Miloslav Luther.
  Jameson CineFest Presents Slovak Animation
A strong and wide selection of Slovak animation films is presented in the programme of the Jameson CineFest - 11th Miskolc International Film Festival, taking place Sept 12 – 21, 2014 in Hungary.
  Central and East European post-Communism retrospective at San Sebastian IFF
A retrospective entitled Eastern Promises. Portrait of Eastern Europe in 50 films is a part of the 62nd San Sebastian IFF's (19. - 27. 9. 2014) programme in Spain and it will introduce films produced since 2000 in the countries that lived under Soviet influence post-World War II. The selection will feature several Slovak films.
  Two Slovak projects awarded at the 2014 MIDPOINT scriptwriting workshop
The MIDPOINTworkshop, aimed at supporting talents and script developing, announced it winners on August 29 at FAMU, in Prague. Among the awarded were two Slovak projects: Why We Believe and The Contest.
  Czech and Slovak Film Festival in Melbourne & Sydney
Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia launches its second edition. After the successful premiere edition in Melbourne in June 2013, the festival extends its program to also include Sydney.

  From Suns to Explosions: A Slovak focus at the 5th Avvantura Film Festival Zadar
A town with the most beautiful sunset in the world, according to the classic director Alfred Hitchcock, will host a section guiding the audience through Slovak cinema. The section entitled From Suns to Explosions will present eight films ranging from the 60s to most recent production within the 5th edition of the Avvantura Film Festival Zadar (23. - 29. 8. 2014) in Croatia.
