  Pandas and Mimi and Lisa in Annecy
The International Festival of Animation Films in Annecy (10. - 15. 6. 2013) is one of the most significant events for animation. This year, the festival presents two Slovak titles - Pandas by Matúš Vizár and Mimi and LIsa - Twins from the Cards by Katarína Kerekesová.
  First Australian Czech & Slovak Film Festival launched in Melbourne
June 5, 2013 the first edition of the Czech & Slovak Film Festival will be launched, placing its venues to Melbourne, the second largest Australian city. The festival will be held until June 9, 2013.
  Transilvania Focuses on Slovak Cinema
The 12th edition of Transilvania IFF (31. 5. – 9. 6. 2013) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania marks a significant presentation of Slovak films: in a section dedicated to Slovakia, it will screen seven Slovak both archive and new films, and the debut by Iveta Grófová Až do mesta Aš will moreover compete for the Transilvania Trophy, among others.
  Pandas Awarded in Cannes
The Slovak-Czech animation short Pandas by Matúš Vizár marks great success at the Croisette: awarded with 7.500 €, it received the 3rd prize ex-aequo in the Cinéfondation section at Cannes IFF.
  Czech Actors in Slovak Films at Zlín Film Festival
The 53rd IFF for Children and Youth Zlín will present a significant amount of Slovak films. The On a Common Journey section will offer a selection of Slovak films featuring Czech actors and actresses. Two Slovak films are, moreover, included in the competition sections of the festival. This year's edition will run May 27 - June 1, 2013.
  Slovak Cinema at Cannes IFF 2013
The 66th edition of the prestigious Cannes IFF runs May 15 - 26, 2013. Slovakia will be represented within the Official Program (Cinéfondation) and Marché du Film.
  Slovak films on a "winning strike"
Slovak films continued to be successful during April, as well. At the beginning of the month, My Dog Killer and Lidice received awards at the Titanic IFF, My Dog Killer then "scored" two awards at the Finále in Pilsen, not far away from where Made in Ash was awarded with a Special Mention of the Jury in Linz. The "winning strike" is closing with yet another win for Made in Ash, which by receiving a Special Mention at the Neisse FF successfully leapt into a new month.
  Peter Dubecký elected for a second term of office
The selection of a new General Manager of the Slovak Film Instiute took place on April 25, 2013. After a public hearing of two candidates, the present director - Peter Dubecký, was selected by the Council of the Slovak Film Institute. The selection was held upon the Audiovisual Act No. 343/2007 and the Slovak Film Institute statute.
  Slovak films at April festivals
Slovak films have a busy spring ahead: during April, they will be presented to audiences at various events - from the 12th Rome Independent Film Festival, 20th Titanic IFF in Budapest, 13th goEast Wiesbaden FF and Disappearing Act V, to the 10th Crossing Europe FF in Linz, 20th IFAF Stuttgart and 20th Hot Docs Toronto.
  Slovak films gain success in March
Slovak films received several interesting awards during March: successful were Mira Fornay's My Dog Killer, Marek Mackovič's Okhwan: Mission Impossible and The Exhibition by duo Peter Begányi and Andrej Kolenčík.
