Producer on the Move: Katarína Tomková This year, twenty promising film producers from different European countries have been brought together by the Producers on the Move initiative once again. They completed the challenging programme from 17 to 21 May online. In the prestigious selection, Slovakia was represented by Katarína Tomková, who produced successful films such as Hotel Sunrise (Hotel Úsvit, dir. Mária Rumanová, 2016) or Servants (Služobníci, dir. Ivan Ostrochovský, 2020).
Cinéfondation – L'Atelier: Caravan Czech director Zuzana Kirchnerová won in the Cinéfondation section at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival with her graduation drama Bába (2008), which tells the story of a granddaughter and her dying grandmother. She is now returning to Cannes after being selected for the L'Atelier programme to present her upcoming film Caravan (Karavan).
Goes to Cannes: Saving One Who Was Dead Thanks to the nomination by Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), upcoming fiction film Saving One Who Was Dead will be presented at the 9th edition of Goes to Cannes.
Short Film Corner – Focus WiP: Love, Dad Upcoming short film Love, Dad by Czech animator Diana Cam Van Nguyen, co-produced once again by Jakub Viktorín and Nutprodukcia, will be presented at Focus WiP at Short Film Corner.
Market Screenings Market screenings schedule includes two films that have just premiered in Annecy: My Sunny Maad, awarded the Jury Award, by celebrated Czech animator Michaela Pavlátová and a children story about friendship of a mouse and a fox Even Mice Belong in Heaven by Denisa Grimmová and Jan Bubeníček.
