Summer Film School Uherské Hradište 2020


The 46th Summer Film School Uherské Hradište (7 - 12 August 2020) will once again, even at the expense of losing a few days, present a rich programme with a traditionally large Slovak representation.

In the New Czech and Slovak Films section Slovakia will be represented by the successful drama Amnesty by Jonáš Karásek and a biographical documentary about the musician Miro Žbirka Meky by Šimon Šafránek. From minority co-productions, we can look forward to the award-winning black-and-white film Painted Bird (d. Václav Marhoul) and the distribution pre-premiere of the drama Shadow Country the story about Austrian border in the 1930s and 1950s, directed by the acclaimed Bohdan Sláma. Cook F**k Kill (d. Mira Fornay) is an absurd drama about a family tragedy, and Droneman (d. Petr Zelenka) is a psychological thriller.

Social experiment Caught in the Net (d. Vít Klusák, Barbora Chalupová) which caused quite a stir in the public will be screened twice, also in the section the Open Air Cinema: New Films. This platform will also offer three comedies: The Last of the Noblewoman (d. Jiří Vejdělek), Owners (d. Jiří Havelka), and the new hit by Ondřej Trojan Bourák. The section will be complemented by the spectator's successful triler Scumbag (d. Mariana Čengel Solčanská, Rudolf Biermann).

Three short movies will be presented in the Student Films section: Alice (d. Monika Mahútová), Anežka (d. Adam Šoltés) and the animated film SH_T HAPPENS (d. David Štumpf, Michaela Mihályi).
