January festivals screening successful Slovak films

25th Alpe Adria FF Trieste, 26th Premiers Plans FF Angers and 37th Göteborg IFF: all of these festivals will present successful Slovak films of the last year.

25th Alpe Adria FF in the Italian Trieste (17. - 22. 1. 2014) will screen two Slovak films in its programme: the Feature Film Competition will present the debut of director Mátyás Prikler Fine, Thanks (2013), which will be personally presented by the director, and also by the scriptwriter Marek Leščák, the Animation section will feature the very successful animation short by Matúš Vizár Pandas (2013). The EastWeek section, which transformed into a scriptwriting workshop for film schools, will have a Slovak participant, as well - Martina Svobodová with the With the Stream project.

The festival in the French Angers - the 26th Premiers Plans (18. - 27. 1. 2014), focusing on debuts and film by young filmmakers, will present three Slovak films overall: introduced by the director himself, Miracle (2013) by Juraj Lehotský will compete in the Feature Films - Competition section. The Student Films - Competition will screen Momo (2012) by Teodor Kuhn, who will be present and Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár.

As almost a tradition, the Göteborg IFF introduces Slovak films and his 37th edition (24. 01. - 03. 02. 2014) is no exception: the section dedicated to Romani topics - Romani Images, the last year's winner from Rotterdam, My Dog Killer (2013) by Mira Fornay will be presented.
