CEI Award to Slovak Filmmaker Dušan Hanák

Alpe Adria Cinema - Trieste Film Festival decided to award Slovak film director Dušan Hanák with the CEI Award 2011 (CEI - Central European Initiative) as a sign of appreciation to his cinema and works in which he has always dealt with issues related to the necessity of building a dialogue among different cultures, and to the difficult and controversial relationship between individuals and power. The award was given by the Ambassador of CEI Mr. Gerhard Pfanzelter. 

The 22nd edition of the Festival also presented a special tribute section in the festival program, with 4 of Dušan Hanák´s renowned films:
322 (1969)
Pictures of the Old World (1972)
Rosy Dreams (1976)
Paper Heads (1995)

In addition, Slovak cinema was presented to a considerable extent within the Festival program and the Professional accompanying event: coproduction forum When East meets West and film school program Eastweek.
