World of Animation at Fest Anča

Fest Anča (June 18-22, 2014), Slovakia´s international festival of animated films, in its 7th edition presents world and Slovak animation in several competition and side-bar sections, and introduces a new animation Industry platform.

Animated films are presented in 4 competition sections:

International Competition of Short Films,
International Competition of Music Videos,
International Competition of Films for Children

and a special selection in the Competition of Slovak Films.

In addition, the programme composes of a collection of Feature-length animated films, Panorama sections, focus on the animation works from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, as well as a Special Slovak section presenting current animation works for children and a retrospective of children TV series of the Slovak Television (bed-time stories).

Newly launched Industry forum and Pitching session of Slovak animators are an important part of the festival programme. See more information here.

Two Slovak films feature in both the main festival´s section International Competition of Short films up to 30min and in the Slovak competition selection: Fongopolis by Joanna Kozuch (SK 2014) and Snow by Ivana Šebestová (Sneh, SK, FR 2013).

Fest Anča introduces two new Awards dedicated to Slovak films:
Anča Slovak Award – with financial award of 600,- Eur, in collabroation with Litfond.
Di Award – distribution award in collaboration with Film Europe Media Company, with the winning film to be screened in Slovak cinemas before a feature film distributed by Film Europe.
