Slovak Films at Fest Anča 2013

A significant selection of both archive and new Slovak animation films will be presented at the International Animation Festival in Žilina (27. - 30. 6. 2013).

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Slovak Film Institute, the festival will introduce a profile on the Slovak animator Viktor Kubal - his full-length films (Brigand Jurko and The Bloody Lady), as well as a collection of his short animations will be available within the retrospective section. 

The Slovak Music Videos section will offer an overview on the history of animation music videos. 

New Slovak animation, however, will also be seen: the new Snow by Ivana Šebestová will open the festival, The Moon by Ondrej Rudavský will compete for the Anča Award, the successful Pandas by Matúš Vizár will fight int the Anča Student Award section, Idaho - an animation music video by Veronika Obertová and Michaela Čopíková, will be introduced in the Anča Music Video Award and last, but not least, the new animation TV series for children by Katarína Kerekesová - Mimi and Líza, will be also screened.

Publications and DVDs published by the Slovak Film Institute will also be available for sale during the festival.
