Slovak films present at festivals in late September

Slovak films will be present at festivals across Europe at the end of September: after the Portuguese Festroia, they will be screened in Prishtina, Kosovo and Kaunas, Lithuania.

Slovak films will have a significant participation at the 28th Festroia IFF in Setúbal, Portugal (21. - 30. 9. 2012). The debut of Peter Krištúfek Visible World will compete in the Official Selection competition, the Slovak horror Evil (by Peter Bebjak) wiill be presented within the European Thriller section. The co-production title OIdentity Card by Ondřej Trojan will be screened as a part of the Out of Competition section. The Man and His Environmnet section will present the documetaryNicky's Family (by Matej Mináč) and the two documentay shorts We Shall Talk About in Heaven by Jaro Vojteka and I Wanted to Be a Mother by Marek Šulík. The Shorts from Schools section will screen two students films A Few Millimeters Under the Root by Michal Haruštiak and tWINs by Peter Budinský.

The 4th edition of the Kosovian festival PriFilmFest (24. 9. - 1. 10. 2012) will host the successful debut of director Zuzana Liová The House (2011). Slovakia will be also represented at the Industry event PriFilmFORUM: the activities of the Slovak Film Insitute within the European Film Promotion (EFP) will be presented by Alexandra Strelková. Kosovo became a member of the EFP this year.

The genre horror film - first of its kind in Slovak distribution - Evil (by Peter Bebjak) will be screened for the Lithuanian audience within the Kaunas IFF (26. 9. - 7. 10. 2012). The film will be screened in the Wide Angle section.
