Slovak films at BFI London Film Festival
Slovak cinema will have a significant representation at BFI London Film Festival (12. - 27. 10. 2011): two successful titles were selected for the Cinema Europa section.
The four awards holder from Karlovy Vary, the latest film by Martin ulík Gypsy and successful film from Berlinale, a debute by Zuzana Liová The House, will be both screened within the Cinema Europa section. The combinated animation / fiction film Alois Nebel, premiered at Venice IFF, will also be included in this section.
The House by Zuzana Liová, is nominated for the Sutherland Award, which the festival grants to the most original debut feature film. The House is nominated with 11 other films screened at the festival.
Besides the Slovak films, the festival will be opened with a film from the Gala and Special Screenings section - the new film 360 by Fernando Meirelles, which along Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins, Rachel Weisz also stars two Slovak actresses Lucia Siposová and Gabriela Marcinková.
