Slovak Film Week in Moscow introduces ten Slovak films

The Russian audience will have a perfect chance to meet the contemporary Slovak cinema. The Slovak Film Week in Moscow will run June 25 - 28, 2014 and will introduce six feature and four short Slovak films, some of them presented by their authors.

The showcase will present feature, documentary and animation films, which were produced in the last three years. The event will be opened with the successful documentary by Matej Mináč Nicky's Family (2011), personally introduced by its producer Patrik Pašš.

Director Jonáš Karásek will also present his film, debut feature The Candidate (2013), a Slovak box office hit of the last year. Further films within the showcase are Love Me or Leave Me (2013) by Mariana Čengel Solčanská, Indian Summer (2013) by Gejza Dezorz, In the Shadow (2012) by David Ondříček and documentary The Gypsy Vote (2012) by Jaro Vojtek. The short films Moon (2012) by Ondrej Rudavský, Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár, Snow (2013) by Ivana Šebestová and Momo (2012) by Teodor Kuhn, will be presented in a special collection.

The showcase is organized upon the bilateral treaty between the Slovak Republic and the Russian Federation. Its organizers are the NOY Film Company with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culutre of the Slovak Republic, Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Moscow, Slovak Institute in Moscow and the Slovak Film Institute. The event takes place at the FITIL Film Club and will be personally attended by Ivan Sečík, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
