The inhabitants of a Central European urban district called Bird Hill, their nesting, relationships and ideas of home. While this place’s past is associated with Maria Theresa’s legendary vineyards and a colourful bird population, the future seems to be writing power and money into the tarmac. Whatever the outcome, this film shows man as one of many forms of settlement. After all, birds were here before him. And to this day they are the only inhabitants whose movements and relationships are not defined by fences and land.

Obyvatelia jednej stredoeurópskej mestskej štvrte menom Vtáčnik, ich hniezdenie, vzťahy a predstavy o domove. Kým minulosť tohto miesta sa spája s legendárnymi vinohradmi Márie Terézie a pestrým vtáčím osídlením, zdá sa, že budúcnosť budú písať moc a peniaze do asfaltu. Nech to dopadne akokoľvek, tento film ukazuje človeka ako jednu z mnohých foriem osídlenia. Vtáky tu totiž boli pred ním. A dodnes sú jedinými obyvateľmi, ktorých pohyb a vzťahy nedefinujú ploty a pozemky. |
