“Video Kings” is a feature-length documentary with re-enactments, which portrays the import, copying and dubbing of movies from the west in socialist Czechoslovakia and marginally also in Poland and Hungary. In the times when it was impossible to officially obtain movies produced in the west, there were groups of people who smuggled in these movies, dubbed them at home and distributed them on VHS tapes.

Celovečerný dokument s hranými scénami Králi videa podrobne mapuje scénu dovozu, kopírovania a dabovania západných filmov v socialistickom Československu a okrajovo aj v Poľsku a Maďarsku. V časoch, keď bolo nemožné nájsť filmy západnej produkcie v oficiálnej distribúcii, jestvovali skupiny ľudí, ktorí dovážali, amatérsky dabovali a distribuovali medzi ľudí nahrávky týchto filmov na kazetách VHS. |
