The 17th Annual Áčko Student Film Festival

The 17th Áčko Student Film Festival,will be held from 16 to 19 October 2013 at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts on Svoradova street in Bratislava. Every year, the festival showcases the best and latest of the new generation of authors, Slovak university and secondary school students with specialization in film.

Submitted films will be judged by a jury, which will give awards in several categories - the Grand prix for best film of the festival, best fiction film, best documentary, best animated film and best director, screenplay, editing, sound, photography or animation. All festival visitors will have the opportunity to vote and decide who will win the Audience Award.

This year, there is a new addition - a special category for alternative & video. Therefore, the visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy not only the work of young film makers from these universities, but also master classes and lectures from various film experts: Margaret Elizabeth Glover, Bert Beyens, Wouter Hessels or Libor Nemeškal. Festival visitors can also look forward to discussions prepared in collaboration with the magazine Kinečko, lectures from Csaba Bollók - a lecturer from the MIDPOINT: Central European Script Center and the editor of the portal Kinema - Peter Konečný.

Main organizer of the festival is the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, mainly the third year students of production and distribution of film and media arts.
