Czech Lion nominations announced

Nominations for the Czech national film award Czech Lion, granted by the Czech Film and Television Academy, were announced. Three Slovak co-productions were included in these nominations.

The debut by Zuzana Liová The House was nominated in two categories: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Miroslav Krobot) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Taťjana Medvecká).

The animated Alois Nebel received eight nominations: Best Film (Pavel Strnad / Negativ), Best Director (Tomáš Luňák), Best Cinematography (Jan Baset Střítežský), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Karel Roden), Best Editing (Petr Říha), Best Sound (Viktor Ekrt, Ondřej Ježek), Best Music (Petr Kružík, Ondřej Ježek) and Best Art Direction (Jaromír 99, Henrich Boraros, Noro Držiak). The Best Poster award was already announced during the Nomination Evening, also going to Alois Nebel (Robert V. Novák).

In the Best Documentary category Nicky's Family (dir. Matej Mináč) was nominated.

The Slovak cinematographer Martin Štrba was also nominated in the Best Cinematography category for his work on Vendeta.
