Slovak Film Week continues

The Slovak Film Week (April 11 – 17, 2016) continues with the second edition. The part ot the Week is also The Sun in a Net 2016 Gala Ceremony taking place on April 16, 2016. The showcase of domestic cinema was launched last year as a pilot project of specialized Slovak film festival to react on the recent developments in the Slovak audiovisual industry, changes in film financing and growth in film production.

The backbone of this year´s showcase is 21 feature films anf 6 short films produced last year, that fulfils the conditions of the National film Award Sun in a Net Regulation. At The Sun in a Net 2016 Gala Ceremony the best films and performances premiered in 2014 and 2015 will be awarded, as well as two outstanding contributors to Slovak cinema - Juraj Jakubisko and Igor Luther. Their film will be shown in Cinema Lumière before the Slovak Film Week, from April 8 -10.

The festival takes place in Bratislava, in the Cinema Lumière – Cinema of the Slovak Film Institute, member of Europa Cinemas. Slovak Film Week is organized by Slovak Film and TV Academy (SFTA) in cooperation with Slovak Film Institute and Radio and TV of Slovakia (RTVS). Partners are Tatra Banka Foundation, autors´company LITA and Slovak Post.
