What's Slovak in Karlovy Vary?

We are pleased to introduce the line-up of Slovak films and film projects at the  (July 1 – 9 2022).

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, digitally restored classic documentary Pictures of the Old World (1972) will be presented within the Out of the Past section. After the premiere in Cannes, director Alica Bednáriková will bring her short Liquid Bread to Karlovy Vary as a part of Future Frames selection and Beata Parkanová's second feature film The Word will vie for the award in the Crystal Globe Competition.

Four Slovak film projects in different stages of production will participate in the industry programme – Twentyseven by Gregor Valentovič (WiD – Feature Launch), The Visitors by Veronika Lišková (WiP), I Don't Love You Anymore by Zdeněk Jirásky (First Cut Lab) and Brutal Heat by Albert Hospodářský (WiP, First Cut Lab).
