Two Slovak documentaries awarded at Cinematik IFF Piešťany

The 7th edition of the Cinematik IFF in Piešťany is officially closed.

During its closing ceremony, two Slovak films received an award: the documentary Bells of Happiness by Jana Bučka and Marek Šulík, presented in the Cinematik.doc competition section, received the award for the Best Slovak Documentary Film Europe Award. The Piešťany Mayor's Award was given to the documentary ...I Don't Think I Will Return.

The closing film was the Czechoslovak New Wave classics The Sun in a Net, screened in a Slovak premiere from a digitally restored print, on occasion of its 50th anniversary. The film was personally presented by the film's cinematographer Stanislav Szomolányi.
