The Border screened at Disappearing Act IV in New York

The Czech Center New York, and the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, in collaboration with a large array of European cultural institutes and consulates, present the Disappearing Act IV, a showcase of European films, April 11 to April 22, 2012. The series features 25 contemporary European films: Slovakia will be represented by the national Oscar nomination The Border (2009) by Jaroslav Vojtek.

Disappearing Act launched as an annual event in 2009 and instantly became a popular showcase highlighting the vitality of European cinema. This year again, the program presents films that have made a name for themselves on the festival circuit and with the critics, yet remain largely unknown to American audiences. In the previous editions it featured the Slovak films Osadné, Cooking History, Moon Inside You, Music and Blind Loves.

The Slovak co-organizer is the Slovak Film Institute and The General Consulate of the Slovak Republic in New York.
