Thanks, Fine awarded at the 42th edition of the Hungarian Film Week

Despite the problems and complications, with which the 42th Hungarian Film Week (Magyar Filmszemlé) had to struggle at the beginning of the year, the organizers succeed in sustaining the event and moreover, to present two Slovak projects.

During May 5 - 8, 2011, two Slovak films were presented in Budapest: Thanks, Fine (dir. Mátyás Prikler, 2009), a film that represented Slovakia last year in Cannes in the Cinéfondation section and at the Hungarian Film Week it was presented in the Competion of Short Fiction Films section and The Optimist (dir. Dušan Trančík, 2008), which was presented within the informatory section of documentary films.

In addition, the succesful Slovak documentary filmmaker, Peter Kerekes (66 Seasons, Cooking History) was the Jury member of the Main Competition of Documentary Films.

The National Student Jury of this festival decided to award the film Thanks, Finewith a Main Prize, whereby it acknowledged its oppresive realism and visuality, and its story about old age and frustration.
