Northern Film Festival focusing on Slovak films
Slovak cinema has strong presence at the 34th edition of Noordelijk Film Festival in Dutch city of Leeuwarden (Nov 6 - 10, 2013). Seven Slovak films are shown in the programme of one of the largest regional film festivals in The Netherlands and one of biggest cultural events in the north of the country.
The Fokus section consists of both classics and contemporary films:
The Sun in a Net (1962) by Štefan Uher, one of the greatest classics of Slovak cinema, will be introduced also in connection of the 50th anniversary of the Slovak Film Institute. The Garden (1995) by Martin Šulík, the most famous Slovak films from 1990s will be shown in the company of Gypsy (2012), the director´s latest work; further films in the collection include: Made in Ash (2012) by Iveta Grófová and short animation film Snow (2013) by Ivana Šebestová.
Last but not least, Zuzana Liová will present her debut feature The House (2011).
