Soul at Peace and Arsy-Versy awarded in Lagow

At the 39. edition of the International Film Festival of Central and Eastern Europe Lubuskie Film Summer in Lagów, Poland, two Slovak films received the awards of the festival.

SOUL AT PEACE (Pokoj v duši, dir. Vladimír Balko, 2009) was awarded with theJuliusz Burski Prize of the Organizers (1.000€).

The jury composed of Jerzy Kapuścyński (president of the jury, PL), Peter Dubecký (SK), Radovan Holub (CZ), István Krasztel (HU), Leszek Wosiewicz (PL) also awarded the following films:
Zero, dir. P. Borowski, 2009, PL), Vortex, dir. G. Lukšas, 2009, LT) and An Earthly paradise for the Eyes, dir. I. Pavlásková, 2009, CZ.

 

The Jury for Documentary Film s in Competition awarded the Slovak documentary ARSY-VERSY (dir. Miro Remo, 2009) with the main award in the category The Golden Grape for “original subject, modern and laconic film narration and interesting photography” (verdict of the jury).

In the programe of the Festival, further Slovak films were presented:
The Border (Hranica, dir. J. Vojtek, SK 2009), BRATISLAVAfilm (dir. J. Kroner, SK 2009), Afghan Women Behind the Wheel (Afganské ženy za volantom, dir. S. Karimi, SK 2009), Blind Loves (Slepé lásky, dir. J. Lehotský, SK 2008), The Moon Inside You (Mesiac v nás, dir. D. Fabiánová, ES-SK-FR 2009) a collection of student short from the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing arts in Bratislava. For more information see: www.llf.pl.
