As the first in Slovak history, the feature debut OUT (Vychladnutie) by György Kristóf, was selected for the 11th Cinéfondation L’Atelier, which is a part of the prestigious Cannes IFF. The film was invited among the 15 most promising projects from the whole world.

The film by the young Slovak director and scriptwriter György Kristóf, a graduate of FAMU in Prague, starts its story in Eastern Slovakia - in the birthplace of the director - and ends in Latvia at the sea. It follows Ágoston, who after losing his job at a power plant, is leaving his small home town and sets on a trip through Eastern Europe. The film should be shot in summer 2015 and should come to cinemas in 2016.

The filmmakers are no new names to several significant film events - New Cinema Network Rome, B'EST, Pitch&Feedback in Karlovy Vary and during March the project will also be presented at Sofia Meetings in Bulgaria. The film is produced by the Slovak company sentimentalfilm (Marek Urban) and the Hungarian company Mirage Film Studio (Andrea Taschler), the co-producers are Arizona Films (FR), endorfilm (CZ) and Film Angels Prod (LV). The project was supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, as well.

The Cinefondation’s Atelier has been created in 2005 to stimulate creative filmmaking and encourage the emergence of a new generation of filmmakers. So far, out of 156 projects accompanied, 103 have been released in the theaters and 40 are currently in pre-production. For L’Atelier’s 11th edition, 15 projects from 14 countries have been selected, from the new director to the well-known filmmakers, together with their producer and will come to Cannes to meet new potential partners.
