Slovak films in France released on DVD
French viewers will have a chance to get to know some the most significant works of Slovak cinema. After a gala ceremony of presenting the four DVDs on October 7, 2010 in the Action Christine theatre in Paris, they will be distributed in France, Belgium and Switzerland. The films 
The Sun in a Net by Štefan Uher, The Boxer and Death by Peter Solan, The Prime of Life and Birdies, Orphans and Fools by Juraj Jakubisko were chosen by the French publishing house Malavida, which focuses on noncommercial European films.
The collection of the Slovak films is released in original version with French and English subtitles. Besides the filmographies and various texts about the films, the DVDs include also original contemporary interviews. The collection is released in co-operation with the Slovak Film Institute, the copyright owner of these films. The DVDs will be distributed after the presentation at the Action Christine in Paris, of which a screening of Birdies, Orphans and Fools will be part.
