Slovak Films at the 30th Finále Plzeň

The jubilee 30th edition of film festival Finále Plzeň (April 20 – 26, 2017) will once again introduce a significant number of Slovak film titles. Slovak cinema will be showcased not only in the competitive and non-competitive sidebars, but also within the Industry section Czech Film Springboard.

In the Feature Live Action or Animated Films Competition will vie: In Your Dreams! (d. Petr Oukropec), The Red Captain (d. Michal Kollár), I, Olga Hepnarova (d. Tomáš Weinreb, Petr Kazda), The Oddsockeaters (d. Galina Miklínová), Tiger Theory (d. Radek Bajgar), The Teacher (d. Jan Hřebejk) and Wolf from the Royal Vineyard Street (d. Jan Němec).

The Documentary Film Competition will feature four films: 5 October (d. Martin Kollar), The Czech Way (d. Martin Kohout), A Hole in the Head (d. Robert Kirchhoff) and Okhwan Mission Impossible (d. Marek Mackovič).

Two TV projects have been selected for the Serial and Non-serial TV and Internet Production Competition: a fairy tale The Magical Nose (d. Stanislav Párnický) and a series Behind the Glass directed by Peter Bebjak, Zuzana Marianková and Róbert Šveda.

More Slovak films will be introduced within the non-competitive sections.
In the Nets of 2016 will show Angel of the Lord 2 (d. Jiří Strach), Stuck with a Perfect Woman (d. Tomáš Hoffman), Little Feather (d. Lucia Klein Svoboda, Petr Klein Svoboda), Detour on the Path to Perfect Illusion (d. Róbert Fiľo) and Murderous Tales (d. Jan Bubeníček). The selection of the latest Czech and Slovak films will be presented within the section Riding the 2017 Wave featuring Ice Mother (d. Bohdan Sláma), Little Harbour (d. Iveta Grófová), Filthy (d. Tereza Nvotová) and All or Nothing (d. Marta Ferencová).
The Czech pre-premiere awiats for Cuky Luky Film (d. Karel Janák) and the first epizode of the trilogy Garden Store: A Family Friend (d. Jan Hřebejk). Moreover, the Czech Traces in the International Co-Productions will feature Spoor by Agniezsky Holland.

A tailored presentation of upcoming Czech Films Czech Film Springboard, will traditionally be part of the festival's Industry programme. Within the pitching will be presented a Czech-Slovak-Croatian project Cook, Fuck, Kill by Mira Fornay.
