Slovak documentary My father Gulag awarded at Zolotyj buben festival

The documentary film of František Palonder My father Gulag (2008) was awarded with the 2. place in the competition category Documentary film at the International festival of television films and programs Zolotyj buben. The 13. edtition with the main theme „Man in time“ was held during September 14 - 16 in the Siberian Chanty-Mansijsk.

The festival is focused on films with historical and entographic topics. The 13. edition hosted 154 companies with 303 films. My father Gulag is a story of 57-year old Ján Antal, born in the Siberian gulag Elgen to a wrongfully deported Slovak mother Irena Kawash. After 50 years he comes together with his daughter to places where he was born and searches for his father and secrets of his childhood.
