Peter Kerekes to to represent Slovak in 10. anniversary of Producers on the Move in Cannes 2009

Thanks to the membership of the Slovak Film Institute in European Film Promotion (EFP), for the third time, Slovakia takes part in Producers on the Move, which focuses on the presentation of young ambitious producers of each EFP member country.

    
Peter Kerekes, will represent young Slovak producers' community in the 10. anniversary of the project at IFF Cannes 2009 (May 16-19, 2009).

Peter Kerekes’ most recent project as the director and the producer is the documentary about war cooks COOKING HISTORY (SK-AZ-CZ 2009). The film was released in Slovak cinemas on February 19, 2009 and had its international premiere at Visions du Réel Nyons, and currently continues its festival spree: HotDocs Toronto, Planet Do Review Warsaw, and further festivals.
The Producers on the Move project presents the most promising talents of single European countries. On one hand it eases finding „new blood“ of the film industry to companies, on the other hand it provides an exclusive space to young producers to present their work and to establish valuable business contacts.
This year, the EFP members have selected 23 up-and-coming, independent producers who have already made a mark with their outstanding productions in their home countries and at film festivals, but are still at the beginning of their international careers.
