Peter Dubecký elected for a second term of office

The selection of a new General Manager of the Slovak Film Institute took place on April 25, 2013. After a public hearing of two candidates, the present director - Peter Dubecký, was appointed by the Council of the Slovak Film Institute. The selection was held upon the Audiovisual Act No. 343/2007 and the Slovak Film Institute statute.

Two candidates applied for the selection precedure, both were present at a public hearing, upon which the Council of the Slovak Film Institute, appointed by the Minister of Culture and consisting of Oľga Fedorová, Ondrej Šulaj, Peter Michalovič, František Gyárfáš and Miroslav Ulman, selected Peter Dubecký. The administration term of the General Manager starts June 2, 2013 and will run for 5 years. It is a second and last term of office for Peter Dubecký. His rival candidate in the selection was Andrej Beseda.

The newly appointed General Manager considers continuity of the running activites of the Institute to be the most important. During the thirteen years of his fuction as a General Manager his managed to reach a significant position in the context of the Slovak culture, as well as the international audiovisual environment.
