New Slovak Films 2007 – 2008

Presentation of Upcoming Slovak Feature, Documentary and Animated Films was held on Friday, December 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Cinema 12 of Palace Cinemas in Bratislava. The panel presentation was organized by Slovak Film Institute, MEDIA Desk Slovakia in co-operation with 8. IFF Bratislava.

The organizers collected up to 200 film projects in different stages of realization (from development to postproduction) and decided to narrow the scope of the presentation to 40 projects of Slovak and co-production films with planned premiere in 2007 – 2008.

An overview of the projects is summarized in the special bulletin to “New Slovak Films 2007 – 2008“.

The presentation was held for the first time within 7. IFF Bratislava 2005. Out of 36 presented projects in 2005, 8 were completed and premiered in 2006: Bye Bye Harry!, The Cave (Tepuy), Mednyánsky, The Town of Flying Words (presented in Documentary Films Out of Competition at Karlovy Vary IFF2006), Pik and Nik, The Trip, Thirst, and, last but not least, Other Worlds (awarded with Special Mention of the Jury and the Audience Prize at IFF Karlovy Vary 2006).
