Matthieu Darras – the new Artistic Director of IFF Bratislava
The 11th edition of the International Film Festival Bratislava will be enriched by the cooperation with its newly appointed artistic director coming from France – publicist, journalist, film critic and cultural manager Matthieu Darras.
The programme director of “La Semaine de la Critique du Cannes” section at the film festival in Cannes and one of the artistic directors of the International Film Festival Alba in Italy the new position of the artistic director of IFF Bratislava represents a new thrill: “Within the years the Bratislava IFF has managed to build up a very strong reputation internationally, in particular for the quality of its programme. I will put my effort in improving the festival’s profile because if showing good films is essential it’s still not sufficient to make an outstanding festival. A festival may be considered as successful only if achieving the appropriate international status and recognition.”
