Jan Švankmajer in Rotterdam

Jan Švankmajer‘s filmmaking will be strongly represented at the 40th International Film Festival Rotterdam, taking place during January 26 – February 2, 2011.

His latest film Surviving Life, premiered at Venice IFF in the Out of Competition section, will be screened within the non-competition section Spectrum, a section bringing highlights of the film year and new work by prominent auteurs to the festival.

Švankmajer’s new project new project Insects (CZ-SK) was also selected for the 28th co-production market CineMart (January 30 – February 2, 2011), taking place within the frame of the festival. The market gives an opportunity to present a project and find partners for its realization.

During February, an exhibition with Švankmajer‘s collage artwork from the Surviving Life film will also take place in the Czech Centre in Rotterdam.
