Three Slovak films in Thessaloniki

International Film Festival Thessaloniki unveils its line-up! Three fiction-debuts by Slovak documentary filmmakers will be screened at the festival held on November 6 – 15, 2015.

Eva Nová by Marko Škop will vie with another 14 films in the International Competion. In the FIPRESCI-awarded Toronto entry Škop draws a sensitively realized portrait and, through it, touches upon issues such as the passing of time, family bonds, second chances and the power of forgiveness. The film will be personally introduced by the director Marko Škop and the leading actress Emília Vášaryová.

The sidebar Open Horizons will present another two Slovak films: Ivan Ostrochovský´s Koza and Jaro Vojtek´s Children. According to the Festival statement the filmmakers featured in the “Open Horizons” selection experiment with film, subvert stereotypes and propose a restless cinema which enlists an extremely appealing thematic and stylistic palette.

All three films accompanied by The Cleaner (d. Peter Bebjak) will be available for film professionals at Agora Film Market.
