Blind Loves honoured with more awards

* Juraj Lehotsky, the director of Blind Loves, was also granted with the Award of the Minister of Culture 2008, for his contribution to the audiovisual field and cinema and for the extraordinary success of promoting the Slovak cinematograhpy abroad.


 * Blind Loves were also awarded with the Galicia Honorary Jury Special Mention at the 5th International Documentary Film Festival Play-Doc Tui.


The feature debut of director Juraj Lehotský Blind Loves became the most successful film of the Association of Slovak Film Clubs in 2008 and the second most successful Slovak document in the era of an independent state. In the last week the film was honoured with two awards and the total amount has incresed to the number 14.


At the 7. International Festival of Film Debutes Spirit of Fire  in Chanty-Mansijsk (Russia), held February 20 – 26, 2009, the film was honoured with the Golden Taiga Award. The same award was given also to Petr Zelenka for the film Year of the Devil in the past.


At the 6. International Festival of Contemporary Cinema in Mexico City (Mexico), held February 12 – March 1, 2009, Blind Loves were honoured by the Special Mention of the Jury. The Grand Prix was ex aequo given to the film Waltz with Bashir (dir. Ari Folman) and to the film Porque hemos nacido (dir. Jean-Pierre Duret & Andrea Santana).


The successful documentary Blind Loves will be released on DVD during April, available with English, French and German subtitles, the commentary of Emilia Vasaryova and various bonuses. The film will be also available for non-festival audiences in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary and Austria, where Blind Loves will be distributed.
