Board Members Appointed to Slovakia's New Audiovisual
Fund

Law on Audiovisual Fund (516/2008 Coll.) - pdf

On March 30, 2009, Marek Maďarič, Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, appointed 9 professionals from the Slovak audiovisual industry who will begin their six-year term as board members of the newly-established Audiovisual Fund. The Fund is aimed at the promotion, support and development of audiovisual culture and industry ofthe Slovak Republic.

 

The members:

  • Patrik Pašš – chairman of the Board, independent producer
  • Petronela Kolevská-Vančíková – vice-chairwoman of the Board, independent producer
  • Jelena Paštéková – representative of creators of audiovisual works
  • Miloslav Luther - representative of creators of audiovisual works
  • Michal Drobný – representative of distributors / cinema operators
  • Marta Gajdošíková – representative of public service TV broadcasting
  • Tomáš Kamenec - representative license TV broadcasting
  • Robert Ťavoda – representative of retansmission services
  • Nataša Slavíková – appointee of the Ministry of Culture

The initial tasks of the newly established Fund are the following:

  • open call for applications for the position of the Director of the Audiovisual Fund, by April 2, 2009 (based on the privision of the Law on Audiovisual Fund)
  • create the statute of the funde and respective internal regulations,
  • prepare new draft for state funding scheme in the Slovak audiovisual industry,
  • open call for application for support in November 2009.
