Franek sa vracia z emigrácie. Prichádza navštíviť rodnú dedinu. Brat ho víta zdržanlivo. Ožíva medzi nimi dávny spor. Franek opustil hospodárstvo a neprišiel ani na pohreby rodičov. Po niekoľkých dňoch Franek zisťuje, že dedina je nepriateľsky naladená voči Józkovi. Otvára tabuizovanú tému. Genocídu v ich obci a následnú arizáciu pozemkov počas 2. svetovej vojny.


A peaceful village embodying the idyllic beauty of the Polish countryside harbors a dark secret: the collective murder by the inhabitants of their neighbours during World War II. Two brothers discover the secret and are forced to revise their perception of their father, their entire family and the history of their nation.
