In this film, based on a successful Czech TV series, Doc Martin solves personal mysteries and detective plots. Over the course of a single day, he has to look after his small child, settle his traditional misunderstandings with his partner and get to the bottom of a mystery with tracks leading deep into the past. The age-old secret of the Beskids forests had almost been forgotten when it is revived by the discovery of a remarkably small skeleton. This causes a commotion in the rural town, a commotion which becomes even greater as sergeant Topinka and Doc Martin dig deeper in their investigation.

Seriálový doktor Martin rieši vo filme záhady osobného života i detektívnej zápletky. V priebehu jedného dňa sa musí postarať o svoje malé dieťa, vyžehliť si tradičné nedorozumenia s partnerkou a prísť na koreň záhade, ktorej stopy vedú hlboko do minulosti. Dávne tajomstvo beskydských lesov je už takmer zabudnuté, keď ho oživí nález podivuhodne malej kostry. To vnesie do mestečka v horách rozruch, ktorý sa ešte zväčší, keď sa do vyšetrovania vrhnú strážmajster Topinka a doktor Martin.
