Rap, hip-hop as a music genre and lifestyle, quite literally raised a whole generation of Czechs and Slovaks. They found their place in the world thanks to hip-hop and, in effect, “they raised themselves up”. In 2018, rap music was the most powerful genre in Slovakia, it had the largest fan base and the rap scene has never been bigger. In this creative documentary, the allegorical character of hip-hop will take us through the chambers of the history of Slovak hip-hop and will try to discover whence this genre derives its strength and its massive appeal to young people.

Rap, hip-hop ako hudobný žáner a životný štýl takmer doslova vychoval jednu generáciu Čechov a Slovákov. Vďaka hip-hopu našli svoje miesto vo svete a vlastne „vychovali sami seba“. V roku 2018 je rapová hudba na Slovensku najsilnejším žánrom, má najväčšiu základňu fanúšikov, scéna je na vrchole. Alegorická postava hip-hopu nás v kreatívnom dokumente prevedie komnatami histórie slovenského hip-hopu a pokúsi sa nájsť odpoveď na to, kde sa berie sila tohto žánru a prečo tak oslovuje mladých ľudí.
