Warsaw Full of Slovak Premieres
The 31st edition of Warsaw FF will be held from October 9 to October 18, 2015 and will host four Slovak films within the festival official and Industry programme.
In the International Competition will be world-premiered The Cleaner (d. Peter Bebjak). The title will be personally introduced by Peter Bebjak (director), Peter Gašparík (scriptwriter), Martin Žiaran (DOP), Noël Czuczor, Kamil Kollárik (actors), Rasťo Šesták (producer), Natália Rau Guzikiewiczová (executive producer). The Cleaner will be competing for the main award - Warsaw Grand Prix, Best Director Award and Special Jury Award.
In its world premiere Rasto Boroš´s Stanko will be also screened in the competitive sidebar 1-2 Competition. The successful festival hit Koza (d. Ivan Ostrochovský) will be encountered with 14 films in the section Competition Free Spirits and thus will be introduced to the Polish audience for the first time.
Upcoming coproduction film Red Captain (SK-CZ-PL) by Michal Kollár will be also presented within the Industry platform of the festival - CentEast Works-in-Progress.
The Slovak member of Short Comeptition Jury is a film director and cartoonist Matúš Vizár.

The Cleaner is a film about problems in interpersonal communication. It is about how strongly events from our childhood can influence us and how hard it is for us to cope with them. The main character in the film, Tomáš, whose life is running in a stereotype loop, suddenly finds a purpose in life in watching lives of people, for whom he did the “cleaning” work. His life suddenly gets the emotional drive, exactly what he was missing before. Moreover, he falls in love. The feeling he probably missed the most... and suddenly he is able to sacrifice anything for love. |

He has a task to perform. He is absolutely determined to do something properly at least once in his life. However, the journey becomes unexpectedly complicated. Peter "Koza" Baláž is a former Olympic boxer. His partner Miša learns that she is expecting a child and decides to terminate her pregnancy. She reassures Koza to get money for the procedure. Koza, who has not trained in a while, steps back into the ring, hoping to earn some much-needed cash and possibly change Miša's mind. He and his manager, Zvonko, embark on a "tour", where success is not measured in victories, but in the amount of blows that Koza can take. | ||||||
