Successful Slovak films will be presented at the Showcase of Slovak and Czech films in Ljubljana
The showcase of the Czech and Slovak film in Ljubljana called Hand In Hand: New Czech And Slovak Cinema that will be held from March 28 – April 7, 2013 is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the split of Czecho-Slovakia, as well as to the anniversary of the formation of two independent republics. Its programme consists of 10 films and aims at presenting the recent Czech and Slovak cinema, with Czecho-Slovak ties well represented by a number of natural co-productions. This event is held under the authority of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, and the bilateral agreement on cultural cooperation. The main organizer for the Slovak Republic is Slovak Film Institute (SFU) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Slovenia.
As a part of the programme, following Slovak and Slovak-Czech co-produced films will be presented: Alois Nebel (r. Tomáš Luňák, 2011), Blind Loves (r. Juraj Lehotský, 2008), Evil (r. Peter Bebjak, 2012), Made in Ash (r. Iveta Grófová, 2012), Machmaking Mayor (r. Erika Hníková, 2010), Nicky´s Family (r. Matej Mináč, 2011), The House (r. Zuzana Liová, 2011) and Visible World (r. Peter Krištúfek, 2011).
Czech film production will be represented by films Flower Buds (CZ 2012, r. Zdeněk Jiráský) and Long Live the Family (CZ, 2012, r. Robert Sedláček).
The event is hosted any co-organized by the Cultural and Congress Center Cankarjev dom - Kosovel Hall, and co-organized by: Czech Film Center and Slovenian Film Centre.
