Slovak films in Palm Springs
The prestigious International Film Festival Palm Springs (5. - 16. 1. 2012) started in USA last week. Slovakia will be represented with three titles: the debut The House by Zuzana Liová, the winning film from Karlovy Vary Gypsy by Martin Šulík and the co-production animation combined with live action Alois Nebel by Tomáš Luňák.In the Awards Buzz: Best Foreign Language Film section the festival will present a selection of Oscar - Best Foreign Language Film national nominees. While Czech Republic is represented by the co-production title Alois Nebel (CZ-DE-SK, dir. Tomáš Luňák), which started its festival career in Venice last year, Slovakia will be represented by the successful Gypsy (SK-CZ, dir. Martin Šulík).
The critically acclaimed The House by Zuzana Liová, premiered at Berlinale 2011, was selected for the New Voices / New Visions section.
