Slovak films at 19th Art Film Fest IFF Trenčianske Teplice / Trenčín
Art Film Fest IFF Trenčianske Teplice / Trenčín includes several Slovak films in its programme every year. This edition (June 17 - 25, 2011), four of them will compete in competition sections.The successful debut of the young Slovak director Zuzana Liová The House will be presented in the International Competition of Feature Films. The film premiered at Berlinale IFF, in the Forum section. The International Competition of Short Films includes three Slovak films: Cagey Tigers by Aramisova, presented at this year's festival in Cannes, in the La Cinéfondation section, Last Bus by Martin Snopek and Ivana Laučíková, which will have its world premiere and tWINs by Peter Budinský.
New Slovak fiction and documentary films will be introduced in the Slovak Season section, the audience will have a chance to get to know the production of Slovak film schools in the Slovak Season Special: Best of Slovak Student Films section.
The presentation of the English edition of the Ján Kádar publication by Václav Macek will be one of the accompanying events of Art Film Fest IFF, along with the international workshop MIDPOINT and the Forum on promotion of upcoming Slovak films.
Slovak will be represented in the international juries, as well: director Juraj Jakubisko will preside the International Competition of Feature Films Jury, the film theorist and pedagogue Mária Ferenčuhová will be a member of the International Competition of Short Films Jury. The award Actor's Mission will be granted to the Slovak actress Zuzana Kronerová, the costume designer Milan Čorba will receive the Golden Camera award.
