Slovak documentaries at 45. IFF Chicago

New Slovak documentaries Moon Inside You and Cooking History will be presented at the 45. edition of the  International film festival Chicago.

Festival, held during October 8 - 22, 2009 will screen the film of director Diana Fabiánová Moon Inside You in the "ReelWomen" section presented by herself and the film of director Peter Kerekes Cooking History in the "Docufest" section.

Moon Inside You is a fresh look at a taboo that defines the political and social reality of both women and men in a more profound way than society might be willing to admit. Facing the menstrual etiquette with doses of humour and self-irony, the documentary approaches the subject through both personal and collective references, thus challenging our preconceived idea of womanhood.

A documentary about army cooks, or about how the daily needs of thousands of armed stomachs influenced the victories and defeats of leading statesmen. It is a film about the field kitchen as a model of the world, where the preparation of meals becomes a strategy of war. The fight for ideals, which are supported by the stable legs of the kitchen table.
