Cooking History awarded with Golden Hugo at IFF Chicago

The Slovak documentary Cooking history (dir. Peter Kerekes, 2009) was awarded with the main prize of the documentary category - Golden Hugo at the 45. IFF Chicago. The Jury awarded the film "for its originality and humor, and for presenting a view of war from an unexpected angle, so as to shock, entertain, and educate". Together with Cooking History there was another Slovak documentary presented at the festival - Moon Inside You (dir. Diana Fabiánová, 2009) . 

Cooking history came to Slovak theatres on February 19, 2009. Is is a documentary about army cooks, or about how the daily needs of thousands of armed stomachs influenced the victories and defeats of leading statesmen.
