  Oscar for The Lunch Box
The middle-length film The Lunch Box (The Lunch Box, 2009) by Ľubomír Mihail Kocka will be awarded with a student Oscar on June 12, 2010.

Last month, Slovak documentaries Osadné, Cooking History, The Border and the short Arsy-Versy were travelling across the world visiting some of the acclaimed festivals.
  Winners of The Sun in the Net award announced!
In 2010, for the third time in history, biennial Slovak National Film Awards “The Sun in a Net” were awarded to films and filmmakers for the period of 2008 and 2009.
  Cooking History distributed in Spain and Chile
The great international response and a number of awards helped Cooking History, the successful documentary by Peter Kerekes, to be presented in Spanish distribution.
  The Sun in a Net Nominees Announced
The Slovak Film and Television Academy announced the nominations of Slovak films of 2008 and 2009 for The Sun in a Net 2010 - the Slovak national film awards.
  13. Chicago European Union Film Festival to screen two Slovak films
Two succesful Slovak features Soul at Peace (dir. Vlado Balko, 2009) and Broken Promise (dir. Jiří Chlumský, 2009) will be screened during the 13. Chicago European Union Film Festival in USA.
  Torino Film Lab and Script&Pitch workshops in Bratislava

About 50 filmmakers of 25 nationalities from all over the world will be gathering in Bratislava from 19 to 27 March 2010. During their stay in Slovakia, they will be working on their film projects, whether it means focusing on the scriptwriting process or on the development, e.g. on production and financing strategies.
  Slovak participation at 39. Rotterdam IFF
Slovak cinema will be represented by a fiction film, a documentary and by a project at the Co-production Market CineMart, as well at the 39. Rotterdam IFF (27. 1. - 7. 2. 2010) in The Netherlands.
  Cooking History and Broken Promise in Göteborg
The 33. Göteborg International Film Festival, held during January 29 - February 8, 2010 in Sweden, will present two Slovak films.
