  Slovak Films at IFF Bratislava 2010
International Film Festival Bratislava has been supporting and presenting Slovak cinema since its early editions. Also in 2010, special section on Slovak films Made in Slovakia will present the very recent works by Slovak filmmakers, as well as two films that were made in Slovakia by foreign filmmakers.
  Slovak fairy tales released on DVD
After the DVD collections of Slovak films of the 60s, 70s and 80s, the Slovak Film Institute in co-operation with the publishing housePetit Press will release a collection of Slovak fairy tales titled "The Golden collection of the Slovak fairy tales" offering five significant fairy tales on DVD.
  What's Slovak in Jihlava 2010?
Jihlava will become the center of various activities and events concerning the Slovak documentaries in the next few days: in addition to the presentation of a Slovak film in the competition of the 14. edition of the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, Slovak films will be also presented at the 7. Film Market East Silver, at the Slovak Day on October 26, 2010 and a Slovak project will be presented at the 10. co-production East European Forum, as well.
  Slovak films in France released on DVD
French viewers will have a chance to get to know the most significant works of Slovak cinema. After the gala ceremony of presenting the four DVDs on October 7, 2010 in the Action Christine theatre in Paris, they will be distributed in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
  Slovak films presented in Paris
During September 22 - October 5, 2010 fans of Slovak cinema will have a chance to watch the most successful titles - both archive films and new Slovak films - at the prestigious art cinema Champollion in Paris.
  The Border – Slovak National Nomination for Oscar 2011 - Best Foreign Language Film
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) decided to nominate the film The Border (orig. Hranica, dir. Jaro Vojtek) as the Slovak entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award 2011. SFTA members selected the film from among 3 titles eligible for the nomination according to the criteria of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences:
  3 Seasons in Hell in the selection list for EFA Awards 2010
The European Film Academyhas announced the titles of the 46 films (representing 32 countries) on this year’s selection list, the list of films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards 2010.
  Presentation of Upcoming Slovak Documentary Films
After the fruitful experience with the presentation of Slovak and coproduction feature, documentary and animated film projects The Slovak Film Institute has, for the first time, decided to organise a stand-alone presentation focused only on upcoming documentary film projects with their potential theatrical premiere in the next two years (2010 – 2012).
  Surviving Life in the Programme of Venice IFF
The latest film by Jan Švankmajer Surviving Life (orig. Prežiť svoj život (Teória a prax), CZ – SK 2010) is included in the Official Selection – Out of Competition of the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
  Slovak films about love in Bulgaria
During August 27 – September 2, 2010 the 18. edition of the International Film Festival Love is Folly will take palce in Varna, Bulgaria. It is focused at the topic love in cinema.
