The winners of The Sun in a Net 2019
08.04.2019 The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2019 on Friday, April 5. The most awarded film was The Interpreter (d. Martin Šulík) which won six prizes including the one for Best Fiction Film. Documentarian Marek Kuboš won Best documentary for The Last Self-Portrait and directors Katarína Kerekesová and Ivana Šebestová won Best Animation for the TV special Mimi & Lisa - Christmas Lights Mystery. |

The Industry programme includes a presentation of upcoming Slovak films, a showcase of educational platforms for filmmakers and their impact on quality film projects, as well as further master classes and discussion panels. 4th Industry Days will take place March 25 – 26, 2019 in Bratislava, Kino Lumière. |

Livre Paris with Slovak Films
07.03.2019 This March, the book salon Livre Paris presents 25 Slovak books that have been translated to French. As Bratislava is City of Focus, Kino Visegrad together with The Centre for Information on Literature prepared a film showcase in cinema Christine 21 starting on 14 March. Kino Visegrad Présent: Bratislava. Au bord, au centre lasts for four days, with the last screening on 17 March 2019. |

Slovak Film Institute in Clermont-Ferrand!
04.02.2019 Slovak short films will be presented at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival (Feb 1 – 9, 2019), one of the world’s largest and most prestigious film festival dedicated to short films.
